Pre-event interview

"As compliance officers, we are no longer dealing solely with changing laws and regulations. Increasingly, we are navigating ethical dilemmas, diverging legal frameworks, and evolving societal expectations. All of this adds an extra layer of complexity to the role."
"What makes compliance so interesting is that you are not just the “checker”, you are a partner to the business, helping them succeed responsibly. Twenty years ago, the focus was on regulatory pressure and establishing the basics. Today, compliance is much more about ensuring resilience: the ability of financial institutions to absorb shocks, adapt, and continue to serve clients and society without losing trust."
"Financial institutions are being asked to manage risk in a domain that’s still unfamiliar and rapidly evolving. Different networks, asset types, transaction models — each with unique risk profiles. The key challenge is making this understandable and manageable. Our mission is to strip away the noise and present crypto risk in a way that compliance officers can trust — clear, actionable, and aligned with their existing frameworks. That’s how we help protect both institutions and the wider financial system."
"Compliance sits at the heart of the company. Whether it's geopolitical tensions triggering sanction laws, or issues like sustainability, greenwashing, or Personal misconduct, it all falls under compliance. That’s why working in compliance means being right at the centre of society."
"If you want to be a good compliance officer, don’t focus only on technical knowledge—focus on competencies. Having first-line experience, or at least some hands-on understanding of how the business works, really helps. Everyone can learn. But the best compliance officers I’ve met weren’t necessarily the most “technically” knowledgeable. Their value came from how they used their skills—not just what they knew."
"The whole geopolitical situation, as we see it, has a huge impact on our customers. It has a big impact on us as a bank as well. We need to do our utmost to understand what’s happening, assess the risks, and prepare as best we can to manage them when they materialize – and some of them inevitably will".

Participants

With our Compliance Event, we aim to bring together high-level speakers and attendees to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and ideas.

Therefore, this event should be of interest to compliance professionals, but also for leaders who, while not engaged in compliance daily, view it as a crucial element in strategic management.

We expect to welcome 100+ attendees from 50+ organizations, both public and private. Our event is driven by a clear mission.

First, we want to bring the (financial) professionals in the Compliance space together and encourage knowledge sharing and exchange of best practices.

Secondly, we hope to add value in the deepening of cooperation between the different stakeholders in the Compliance sector, among other things, by facilitating the forming of new relationships and to deepen existing relationships.

Finally above all we aim to achieve that all participants will travel home after the conference full of energy and enthusiasm.
